Smoothie Recipe: Banana, Peanut Butter, Wheat Germ

Here’s a recipe for a quick, tasty snack that comes together in less than 5 minutes.

In a blender, place:

  1. two ripe bananas
  2. ~1 cup of milk (or coconut/almond/soy milk)
  3. a large spoonful of peanut butter (not quite 1/4 cup?)
  4. 2 tablespoons of wheat germ
  5. and 5 ice cubes.

Blend on high until ingredients are smooth.  You may need to add more milk.

Occasionally, if I feel like splurging I’ll add a Concord Foods Banana Smoothie Mix to the blender as well.  There’s nothing healthy or redeeming about this since it just adds sugar, but it certainly makes it taste even better.

This is a favorite in our household.  My 2 year old girl is a picky eater, but will drink just about anything.  I’ll share some of our fruit/vegetable juicing recipes in the future.
